What I've been wearing: Damn fine coffee!!

Hello again!! You may or may not know, one of my all time favourite shows is Twin Peaks, I've even got a tattoo showing my love (that's it up there). It was recently announced that Twin Peaks would be coming back for a short run on Showtime, which is great!! Honestly if you've never seen the show, you need to watch it. You will either be obsessed with it, or have no clue whats going on.
Anyway in honor of cherry pie, coffee and fish in percolators I thought I'd do an outfit of the day inspired by the legendary show!!

"Diane, I'm now entering the town of Twin Peaks"

"Isn't it too dreamy?"

This outfit is mainly inspired by the dream that Agent Cooper has. He finds himself sitting in a room with black and white chevron floors and deep red curtains. I won't explain anymore as it gets a bit weird, but it does contain a dancing dwarf. So yeah.
Anyway I didn't have anything with chevron print, but I thought this striped top was perfect!! I got it a while ago from Primark, so I'm unsure if they still make it. The skirt is from a clothes shop that was going bust, and I took advantage of the sale (I can't even remember the name of the doomed place) My shoes are from the Tesco of all places, but at £14 I love them. Finally, my favourite piece is obviously the brooch, which is from KatesLittleStore on Etsy. She's got loads of cool bits on there, but it's fair to say this was my favourite!!

So there's my little tribute to Twin Peaks. It may seem silly to some to get a tattoo based on a tv show or base entire outfits around it, but it has played a very important part in my life. Everytime I hear the theme music it feels like going home.

That's all for now folks, what's your favourite show? And let me know if you love Twin Peaks as much as I do!!

Until next time,

Lucy

A Walk in the Woods..

Hello there!! Bit of a photo heavy post today, but jut thought I'd share some snaps from a lovely walk I had with my mad dog today. Sometimes it's just nice to be around nature ya know? Plus autumn is my favourite season, it's so lovely seeing all the different colours everywhere!!

Yes, that last photo is of a cow. Apparently they were in the woods for conservation grazing (don't ask me) but boy it took me and the dog by surprise!! They seemed quite happy, even though they did look a little out of place amoung the trees!!

So that's it for now, just wanted to share some of the beauty of nature with you folks!! I've had a lot floating about my head recently and I always find a walk in the woods with a crazy dog clears out all the cobwebs.

Until next time,

Lucy

I love bees. There's just something about them that's always fascinated me. Therefore, I'm kinda obsessed with this camera. I'm probably the last person in the world to get one, but damn I'd like one.

This print is beautiful, definitely one for the moving out list!! Get yours and loads of other pretty prints from MichelleBrusegaard on Etsy!!

Finally is this dress from Modcloth, love the print!!

The most awesome house ever!!

Hello again!! About a week ago I went up to Aaron's for a few days, where we mostly mostly watched crap films and ate crap food. On the (one of the few) occasions we did feel like stepping outside, we visited one of Aaron's mates. Now he had told me about this guy, this guy liked to collect things. Not just antiques, not just collectibles, but things. Now that's the kind of person I like to have a cuppa tea with.

Stepping into this guys house was like a museum. Except you could touch everything and there was an awesome bulldog called Buster drooling on your feet. Bulldogs are the best. My favourite piece he had happened to be in the bathroom, and is this lovely lady in the above photo. I think he said it was from around the thirties, and there's something about the look on her face that's just so dashing. Second favourite would have to be that fox. He died of natural causes, so don't worry!!

These are the only photos I took, as I didn't want to show all of the guys stuff, it's his personal collection ya know? As you know, I love old nick-nacks, random things that have their own story and history. Seeing this blokes house was a whole new experience, I've gotta step up my game!!
That's all for now, hope you guys enjoyed this post!! I certainly enjoyed making it.
Until next time,

Lucy

What I've been wearing.

Hello again!! Lets get back into the swing of things with an outfit post. Now even though it's starting to turn to Autumn (my absolutely favourite season) I'm still trying to hang on to that last little bit of sunshine. Recently I've getting obsessed with floral and botanical prints. Not just on clothes, bags, duvet covers, plates, everything!! I may have gone a bit over board with all the floral things I've bought but hey, I like it.

First of all, yes I need a haircut. But I like to try and leave it as long as possible because I have an irrational fear of hairdressers. Is that just me? I just get awkward with a stranger all in my space, talking to me about shows I've never watched. Also I'm pretty sure they're always judging my ears.
Anyway the outfit!! I'm in love with this skirt, the print is just darling. It's hard to see in the photos (I will be getting a new camera soon!! I promise!!) but the texture is like that of a tapestry. Or a carpet, but tapestry sounds way classier. The skirt is from New Look, and was in the sale so I'm not sure if it's still available.

The shirt is from H&M, and is the most delightful shade of sky blue. I'm also in love with this color, just look at it, it's adorable. If it looks a bit baggy, that's because it's a size too big, but I like having baggy shirts to tuck into things.
That's it for now!! Sorry for such a short post, I've been trying to sort out a lot of things lately, the most exciting being driving lessons. I'm gonna be 20 in November, I suppose I better do it now. Also I really want a mini cooper, I've just become obsessed with them.

Oh one last thing!! As I said earlier, I'm hoping to get a new camera soon, can anyone recommed any good ones? I've never been great with technology and need all the help I can get!! Let me know in the comments!!

Until next time,

Lucy

Sunday Blues #4

Got those Sunday blues? Well have a look at these beauties to cheer you up!!

I've never really been one for backpacks myself, but this one from Modcloth certainly did catch my eye. I'm thinking hopefully when I get my telescope and start stargazing I'll be needing one, and this certainly isn't too shabby.

Loving this dress from Yumi Direct, the cut is just so flattering. They've got some fantastic styles on there at the moment, honestly it was hard to pick just one for this week!!

Recently I ordered some beautiful prints from TheBeeandTheSea (which I'll post as soon as they arrive) but she also creates this lovely trinket boxes. They are all handmade and would be great for rings!!

This ring from JaniceArtJewellery is so simple but stunning. Also it's made with a piece of a real meteorite, and who doesn't want their own little star to get them through the day?

If you love vinyl as much as me then of course you want to hang your coats on it!! Gotta get my hands on this set of hooks from Urban Outfitters.

This watercolour print from KellyBurmudez is gorgeous!! Would look lovely in a plain black frame.

That's all for now folks, hope you all are having a great week!! Keep your eye out for more posts coming up soon!!

Graveyard Adventure

Hello again!! So the other day I was just itching to get out and explore, and what better place than my local cemetery? I've always been fascinated by graveyards, I just think they're very peaceful places. When I was younger I wanted to be a caretaker for a cemetery, and to be honest I still wouldn't mind that.
This is the graveyard at St Mary's church in Ashford, where I live. It's right in the center of a very busy town where there's always lots of people, but it's so quiet here it was almost like being in a completely different place.

Most of these graves were from around the 1800s, and were so old and weathered that they no longer had writing or any indication of who was buried below. There were still some interesting details though, there were a lot of Skulls and crossbones about!! After looking up some of the history, turns out St Marys was mentioned in the Doomsday Book in 1086, making it at least 1000 years old. I never knew such an old and wonderful place was right on my door step.

So that's all for now, it was so lovely walking round here, imagining the lives these people must have led. I do have a couple more cemetery's near me, would you guys be interested in more Graveyard adventures? This post was a bit different from normal, but I hope you guys enjoyed it anyway!! I certainly enjoyed making it!!
